Madha Taluka is coming under back ward zone in Solapur District. In the year 1970 the Govt. of Maharashtra had completed Ujani –Dam Project. Since then irrigation water source available. Nearly 10 to 12 villages of this taluka located at west side of this project are covered under cannal irrigation of Ujani project. Since 1970 onwards due to irrigation water source availability the sugar cane area increased day by day.  The leadership of taluka tried to install sugar factory project. But due to inadequate potential of water source and uncertainty of rainfalls, upto 1990 the proposal of sugar factory refused. During the Maharashtra State Assembly election 1995, Shri. Babanrao Vitthalrao Shinde elected independent candidate. Since his leadership he tried his level best to convince the State Government to provide agril irrigation water supply schemes for this taluka. Taking into consideration the reasonable demand Shri Sharadchandraji Pawar the then Chief  Minister of Maharashtra had approvad Bhima-Seena Jod kalawa project i.e. 22 K.M. length Under ground tunnel of Rs. 350 crores and second scheme namely Seena Madha Lift Irrigation Project of Rs. 300 Crores investment and also constructed 12 KT wears on Seena river. Thereby assured irrigation water supply made available in this taluka. Bhima-Seena Jod Kalawa Irrigation Scheme started in August, 2004 & near by 11800 Hectare land get irrigated. Seena-Madha Irrigation scheme started in September, 2005 & near by 10000 Hectare land get irrigated. Due to the potential availability water, sugarcane crop increased day by day in Madha Taluka. There is near by 22 Lacs MT sugarcane available in ongoing crushing season 2010-11 in Madha Taluka.

I) Bhima- Seena Jod Kalawa Irrigation Scheme  Details :

Other Additional Development Activities
1.	Bhima-Seena River Link Tunnel due to which 11800 hectares of land get irrigated. Longer ever in Asia i.e.24 K.M.Long of 350 Crores expenditure.
2.	Seena-Madha Lift Irrigation Scheme of 300 Crores capital expenditure due to which 10000 hectares land came under irrigation.
3.	K.T.Weirs on Bhima & Seena River.
4.	Hole & other 32 Villages water supply scheme 75 villages Scheme for drinking water from Ujani dam of 100 Crores.

11.	Cattle camps in scarcity period- During the severe drought in 2003-04 the Karkhana run 10 Cattle feeds and reared 35000 Cattles by providing cattle feed, water and medicine.

15.	Common Marriage Ceremony- Since last 8 years has Shinde Bahuuddeshiya Sanskritik Mandal, Nimgaon (T) arranged Common Marriage Ceremony near by 200 to 250 couples per year with the Co-operation of Vitthalrao Shinde S.S.K.Ltd. for poor people which is helpful to prohibited the extravagant expenditure of Marriage. Free Medical Check up camps, Eye Camps with Cataract Surgery with IOL, Blood Donation Camps, Free Kashi Yatra for Senior Citizen in area of operation of factory.

Corporate Social Responsibility

• In draught affected condition in 2003-04 maintained Animal camps of 35000 cattle’s, buffaloes, bullocks, and others.
• Organized ‘Free Common Wedding Ceremony’ for all religions each year. Completed successfully more than 1200 marriage ceremonies.
• Free medical check up camps, eye camps with cataract surgery with IOL, blood donation camps.
• Free Kashi Yatra for senior citizens in area of operation of factory.

• Sugar factory has also adopting new technologies like On-Line Sugar ERP implementation at various departments as well as Sugar Plant & Distillery Automation.
• A unique factory expands capacity from 2500 TCD to 3500 TCD within five years & from 3500 TCD to 6000  TCD within nine years of the commencement year i.e.2001 during the 9th fifth year Planning Commission.
• 28 MW co-generation plant.
• Refinery of 250 M.T. sugar per day
• 30000 KLPD Distillery Plant for manufacturing of Alcohol, ENA & Ethanol.
